Her mother, a Filipina is her maternal grandmother. While her father is Irish as well as Scottish. Mitchell is also the cousin to Lea Salonga - a famous musical theatre actress and singer. Mitchell went to Rockridge Secondary school before she moved into West Vancouver Secondary. When she was a teen, she was already a model for companies in several countries. The trip took her across the world to Barcelona Bangkok Hong Kong before finally returning home and studying modeling in Toronto.
