Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox, born 25th December 1954, in Aberdeen Scotland. Dorothy Farquharson is her mother and Thomas Allison Lennox, father. Lennox was a flute, piano and harpsichord at the Royal Academy of Music London for three years in the 1970s. Lennox was able to live by surviving on a student stipend, while working part time jobs. Lennox was of the opinion that her talents weren't as good as those of the Royal Academy classmates. So she started thinking of other options she could pursue. Lennox started her professional career in 1976 when she joined the group called Dragons Playground. However she left prior to the group's appearance to I.T.V.s talent contest New Faces. The main part of her role was the lead singer in The Tourists from 1977 until the year 1980. Here she met Dave Stewart who would later join Eurythmics. Lennox then went on to record her solo debut album Diva. This was released in the year 1992. The album received a lot of praise, both from the press and critics. Nostalgia Lennoxs six-album solo that was released in October 2014 was Nostalgia Lennox. This C.D. Lennox chose her favourite blues and soul tracks. Lepidoptera is a collection of four tracks that she improvised for piano, which Lennox released in May, 2019. The E.P. First album of hers, Now I'm Letting You go... was released as the perfect accompaniment to her work of artwork at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art.
